Here at Keyes Cars, we’re always happy to take drivers out for a test
drive in a brand new Honda vehicle. Drivers know that the Honda brand has been making
dependable, fun-to-drive vehicles for decades, but they’re still blown away
once they get behind the wheel of a new 2017
Honda automobile. Part of the automaker's quest for perfection is their
dedication to creating safe, secure vehicles that help you avoid collisions,
and keep you and yours safe in the event that a collision does occur.
The Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) is an
impressive innovation that utilizes a millimeter wave radar sensor to monitor
vehicle traffic ahead. The system issues a warning sound if it senses an
impending collision, and can actually bring your Honda vehicle to a stop if it
determines that the collision is unavoidable. Are you a big fan of using cruise
control? Then you’ll love the brand’s Adaptive Cruise Control, which allows you to
set and maintain a specified following interval, freeing you from having to
manually adjust your speed along the highway.
Road Departure Mitigation provides further peace of mind. This feature
kicks in when you’re traveling between 45 and 90 mph. If RDM senses that you’re
getting too close to the side of the detected roadway without your turn signal
on, the system gets your attention with rapid steering wheel vibrations. If
that doesn’t work, it can apply steering torque and braking to right your path.
The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) works in a similar manner to
help keep you in the center of a detected lane.
