Here at Keyes Cars, we are committed to being your premiere Los Angeles used car dealer. This means that our staff goes to great lengths to stay informed on the inner workings of the auto industry. As a result of their hard work, we are proud to admit that our staff is comprised of highly-knowledgeable automotive experts. Due to their knowledge, our staff can answer any question you may have regarding automotives. Typically, these tend to be general questions about vehicle upkeep and maintenance. However, sometime, these questions can be more targeted.

Spot the Difference

When trying to identify the difference between an SUV and a crossover, our staff will mention a few things. Firstly, it is common practice for the two terms to be used interchangeably. This means that referring to an SUV as a crossover or vice versa is not necessarily incorrect. After all, they both refer to four-door all-wheel-drive vehicles. However, there is an actual difference between an SUV and a crossover: the design.

An SUV’s body and frame are built separately from each other and then added together at the end of the manufacturing process, this is what is known as a “body-on-frame” design. A crossover’s body and frame are manufactured as one unit, this is what is known as a “unibody” design. All you need to know, is that this means an SUV is a bit more truck-like in its handling, while the crossover more closely resembles a sedan.
